I tried making my moms wonderful bread recipe when I was 21 years old. She was living in AZ and I was in Mississippi so she couldn’t help me. I knew nothing about yeast and I made 2 wonderful Bricks 😂. I didn’t try making bread again for 40 years 😳. UA-cam is a wonderful teaching aid. I made 2 wonderful loaves of bread and my journey into baking bread began. I knew it was much better for you than store bought. Then I read about how much healthier fresh milled flour was for you. I made bread with store bought flour for about a year and then I delved into FMF bread. I never liked wheat bread from the store and I was shocked at how different FMF bread tasted. I am in the process of converting all my flour use to FMF as well as corn and oats. My husband and children always loved wheat bread so they were really loving the FMF bread. I was the hold back 😬. I make bread and freeze it and rolls and freeze the dough to take to my now adult children so they can enjoy the fruits of my labor. My grandchildren even love the FMF bread and are always asking me when I am going to bring them some more good bread. They are 9,7, 6, 6, and 1. The 9 yo doesn’t really like bread at all but the others love it. My 9 yo loves pancakes though so I freeze him pancakes. What a wonderful journey this is!!

Excellent informative video!! I picked and cleaned 5.25 gallons of wild elderberries over here in Connecticut last year in 2023. Finding only wild elderberries. Your lucky with that beautiful large variety elderberry. I plan on growing my own trees too. I heard and looked on google that elderberry doesn’t have any sugar in it? I make hawthorn berry syrup without adding sugar or honey . The steam juicer makes tasteless hawthorn berries with a slight hint of noticeable sweetness. The syrup tastes unbelievable. The color of the juice is a beautiful crimson red color. The hawthorn berry is also a medicinal for heart health. Try hawthorn berry out west and you will not regret it. A Native American Passamaquoddy Medicine Man who passed away told me how to make both chokecherry and hawthorn berry syrup. I believe steam juicing is way more efficient method and was blown away by how much better hawthorn berries taste. You need to do more than steam juice and it take a long time to make it. The rubber gloves is a better idea in taking them off when frozen because the rubber latex will stick to the elderberries and twist off better than a fork. I used a fork and even when frozen many stems were on. Yeah picking out stems and green unripe fruits takes a ridiculous amount of time. Yeah so without any natural sugar additives or honey etc a syrup can be made after you steam them. It takes a much longer time but we’ll worth investigating. I plan on making wild Concord grape syrup will surpass anything because I didn’t add anything artificial to it.

I've just started making fruit leathers. So far, I've made four batches. Two turned out quite well and two pulled apart, like cracks after an earthquake. Each batch included about 1/3 apple sauce. I used honey as a sweetener, as necessary. Run 1: Strawberry/kiwi/apple/honey 👍 Run 1: Strawberry/banana/apple/honey 👎 Run 2: Black cherry/apple 👍👍 Run 2: Mango/apple 👎 The best was the black cherry, by far. Any ideas? Thanks!

Bake twice a week and make 2 loaves at a time. I mill all my own flour and make only all whole wheat. I add in potato flakes I get from the LDS Cannery which makes it into a very light, soft bread.. I've never used buttermilk in my recipe. I may try it soon.
